Waxahachie residents have launched a citizen petition seeking to prohibit government use of automated license plate readers, including Flock Safety cameras and similar surveillance technology, according to the Waxahachie Sun.

The initiative would also seek to block city government access to data collected by such systems within Waxahachie.
