Above-normal temperatures and dry conditions will cover North and Central Texas this weekend into next week, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. Heat indices could reach 106 in portions of Northeast Texas.
High pressure and clear skies will push highs 7 to 10 degrees above normal. North Texas highs are expected to run 99 to 103 degrees, while Central Texas highs will be slightly cooler, 95 to 100, after rain earlier in the week.
Isolated thunderstorms, with a 10 to 30 percent chance, are possible along and south of U.S. 84 each afternoon and evening this weekend, the weather service said.
